From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
"Zanda County is a county in the Ngari Prefecture to the extreme west of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
Ngari Prefecture (also: Ali Prefecture) is a prefecture of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Its capital is Gar County. Its regional headquarters is in the town of Purang. One of the biggest cities is Ali. It includes part of the Aksai Chin area, a part of Kashmir, which is disputed with India. China exercises administrative control. The Xin-Zang Road passes through this area. There's a famous pre-historic culture site near the town of Ritu.
There existed once the Ancient Tibetan Guge Kingdom. Ngari along with Ü and Tsang compose Ü-Tsang, one of the traditional provinces of Tibet, the others being Amdo and Kham."
